FHM GUY AWARDS 2010 REVEAL THE FAVOURITE BRANDS AND ACTIVITIES OF READERS

One of the highlights on the annual FHM calendar, the FHM Guy Awards 2010, revealed what FHM readers consider to be their best brands and favourite activities. Voting took place towards the end of 2009 (online at fhm.co.za), with full results published in the March issue of FHM, on sale now. Categories ranged from best beverages and other consumables to favourite sporting events and teams.

FHM readers just cannot get enough of FHM cover model Lee-Ann Liebenberg, who walked away with two top awards as both the favourite FHM covergirl (36% of votes) and favourite TV hottie (33% of votes) in this poll. FHM Editor, Hagen Engler says that Liebenberg is the perennial beauty that has been wowing readers for years. “All hail Lee-Ann! She was the only choice for our 10th birthday issue cover, and we were delighted with the results. Obviously, our readers agree! She is most worthy of these awards.”

There were no surprises when Coca-Cola walked off with top honours as the best cooldrink (with 61% of the votes).  Pepsi however only managed to claim the number third spot (7% of votes) as Liqui-Fruit was named the runner-up (14% of votes).
The best beer honours went to Amstel (21% of votes), followed by Heineken (20% of votes), Windhoek Lager (13% of votes) and Carling Black Label (11% of votes). Jägermeister was voted as the best shooter (42% of votes), followed by Tequila (30% of votes) and Suitcase (20% of votes). Red Bull won the best energy drink category with 35% of votes, followed by Energade (19%).
FHM readers love their Nandos, voting it the best takeaway (34% of votes). The hunger for chicken continued with KFC in second place (30% of votes), followed by Steers (16% of votes) and McDonalds (10% of votes). The best chocolates are Bar One (28% of votes) and Tempo (17% of votes).

It was a tie for the best movie of the year as both District 9 and The Hangover each received 33% of votes.  Inglorious Basterds was also a firm favourite (13% of votes), as was Slumdog Millionaire (8% of votes). The best album went to Eminem for Relapse (27% of votes), followed by Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown (17% of votes) and Pitbull’s Rebelution (15% of votes). 5fm is considered to be the best radio station (63% of votes). The best TV music channel is MTV (48% of votes), while MK secured the runner-up position (23% of votes). FHM readers consider the IPhone 3GS as the best gadget (24% of votes), PS3 as the favourite gaming console (48% of votes) and Nokia the best cellphone (43% of votes).
