WHO’S THE SEXIEST OF THEM ALL? VOTING NOW OPEN TO FIND THE FHM SEXIEST WOMAN IN SOUTH AFRICA

Arguably the most sought after title in South Africa, the FHM Sexiest Woman in the World 2010 will once again see the country’s most gorgeous women gunning for the title this year. Apart from competing against local beauties, contenders will also have to win the hearts (and votes) of FHM enthusiasts who will be able to vote for any international star. Voting for the 2010 FHM Sexiest Woman in the World is now open, and can be cast online or via SMS.

According to Hagen Engler, Editor of FHM: “Local models and stars know that winning the title as FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World is going to be a life changing event. Previous winners have seen their careers escalate to unprecedented levels, becoming household names overnight. As in previous years, it’s going to be very interesting to see who the public vote for this year, and we also can’t wait to see who will take the title this year.”

More than a million votes saw Capetonian Lyndall Jarvis (26) walk away as FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World last year, and since then, Jarvis has become one of the most sought-after models, securing endorsement deals and even a presenting job on the prestigious Top Billing television show. In a similar fashion, Minki van der Westhuizen, Lee-Ann Liebenberg, Tanya van Graan, the McGregor sisters (both Tracy and Kerry), amongst others, also became local A-list sensations after winning the title.
Apart from Jarvis, other frontrunners last year included Roxy Louw, Sashi Naidoo, Joelle Kayembe and Gabrielle Demetriades. International frontrunners were Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, Rihanna and Scarlett Johansson. Actress Megan Fox clinched the international title for the second year running.

“FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World has captured the imagination of South African men. It’s become an iconic annual guide to who guys find sexy in any given year. It’s also highly accurate and relevant, as it’s based on web votes and text messages from the people who care the most – the men of South Africa,” enthuses Engler.

Previous winners of the title included Casey B Dolan (2000), Candice Hillebrand (2001), Kerry McGregor (2002), Megan McKenzie (2003), Minki van der Westhuizen (2004), Lee-Ann Liebenberg (2005), Carla la Reservee (2006), Tanya van Graan (2007), Tracy McGregor (2008) and Lyndall Jarvis (2009).

Voting for the 2010 FHM Sexiest Women in the World will take place until 9 May 2010. The winner will be announced in July.
